Training Log 7/1

Soooo...long time no see.  A couple of things.  I've found it hard to get back into the swing of working out after my bout with giardia.  This is, of course, a lame excuse.  It's not as if I've used my time wisely, or even for resting.  Instead I've hemmed and hawed every day before throwing in the towel.  One day I even started on the treadmill and GOT OFF.  Lame.  I'm not sure if it's an exercise rut (I get those) or just a lack of motivation.  Some of it may be frustration.  It's hard to backslide when you've been upping the ante every week and suddenly you're struggling to do 2/3 of what you did two weeks ago.  Regardless, it's not good.  When I don't work out I don't get much accomplished.  I feel tired and sluggish all day.  But today I got back on the wagon.  

Running:  39 minutes/3.6 miles
Spinning:  40 minutes/13+ miles
Weights:  60 minutes (full body)

I did not feel especially tired today but did not feel great, either.  My heartrate was a little higher than I'd like while running even though my pace was lower than usual.  

I've ordered exercise videos.  Not sure how this will work but I got one for yoga to encourage me to get a little more stretching in and a kickboxing one--madness.  Also, my Wii Fit just arrived.  When in doubt--consume!  I will review the Great Fitness Hope of America at some point.  After it tells me I'm fat.
